Yes. We hold your data in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
Your RMT Time is an adjusted time that takes into account age, sex and the course you raced in. When you upload your times, the RMT team approves it and enters that race’s time analytics in the RMT database. Comparing the data to over 250,000 triathlon results over the past year, your finishing time will be adjusted through our unique formula. This puts every triathlete on a level playing field.
If your course had a run course that was quick which made your race slightly easier than your average triathlon (for example), the RMT database will take this into account and calculate how much easier it was giving you a slower RMT time.
The RMT time adjustment formula also takes into account age and sex but this part of the calculation will not make your RMT time slower, only faster.
If your course had a particularly hilly bike course which made your race tougher than your average triathlon (for example), the RMT database will take this into account and calculate how much tougher it was giving you a faster RMT time.
The RMT time adjustment formula also takes into account age and sex but this part of the calculation will not make your time slower, only faster.
When you upload your times, the RMT team approves your race by verifying your result. RMT accepts the four standard triathlon distances:
Sprint - 750m (0.47mi), 20km (12.4mi), 5km (3.1 mi)
Standard - 1.5 km (0.9mi), 40km (24.8mil), 10km (6.2mi)
Middle – 1.9km (1.2mi), 90km (56mi), 30km (18.6mi)
Full Iron – 3.9km (2.4mi), 180km (112mi), 42.2km (26.2mi)
Additional races may be accepted into the rankings on our discretion.
Races that have different distances to the above will not be accepted as part of the rankings
At the moment, RMT are only accepting these distances as they are the globally recognised triathlon race distances. The credibility of the RMT time adjustment formula relies on certain distance parameters.
Only your fastest race finishing time will appear on the rankings tables. You can have a maximum of 4 races shown, one in each table; Sprint, Standard, Middle and Full Iron. However, if you have several races uploaded, your fastest race using your RMT time might be different to the fastest race using Overall time. Therefore, you can choose whether the Rankings displays your fastest race using either RMT-time or Overall Time by changing the filters on the rankings tables themselves.
Because each individual race time submitted requires approval by a member of the RMT team which can take up to 24 hours.
In order for the RMT to verify your triathlon race please go to your race website and copy and paste the URL (www.) from the results page for your race into the race URL field. The RMT team can then access this link and then verify your race.
